When a new computer program gets released it is not unusual for users to notice that at certain times they may experience the odd problem with its operation, this will typically happen at the same point every time and it is a sign that all is not well with the program. When a problem like this happens, the software company and programmers who developed the software will usually produce and release a software update, which is often known within the programming industry as a patch.
